HISTORY

One day in a garage in the rolling hills of Italy, an idea was born. Race car builder and former rally driver Corrado Cusi dreamed of a simple, affordable, open-wheel race car using a motorcycle engine. This would become the Predator PC001. He entered it in the Monza Formula Junior Championship in 2005 and the UNICEF Championship in 2006. Success quickly came with Raffaele Barile scoring the Predator’s first win. This was followed up by Matteo Cogoni and Alfonso Chiarini winning the Formula Minicar 600 Championship in 2006 and 2007, organized by the late great Tony Padrone. Year by year the Formula Predator built a reputation as the affordable open-wheel race car for everyone. And as the racing world has evolved since, the Predator car has too while still staying true to its low-cost roots.

Competitive Advantage

The Formula Predator is an easy-to-drive, controllable, safe, low maintenance, spec race car. Body panels are fiberglass-carbon composite and easily swapped in a modular fashion. Engine components are typically OEM motorcycle engine parts. Tuning, parts, and maintenance are all supported by Formula Predators dealer network and factory support specifications. The cost to own and race a Formula Predator is fractional compared to entrylevel race cars such as Formula 4 or Formula 2000. Additionally, for the weekend amateur or pro-am racer, a Formula Predator is often cheaper to purchase and own compared to say the popular Spec Miata or Spec Racer Ford. FP is a purpose-built & designed open-wheel race car, built for the track, versus a 10-30-year-old street car, roll cage installed and modified for track racing. Formula Predator is targeted to reach full production in one year. *An all-electric Formula Predator model is due to be released in late 2022 and make its way to North America in 2023, making it the first junior electric Formula race championship in North America

DESCRIPTION
PC015/PC016 Presented in Maranello, at the Ferrari Museum. The PC015 is an evolution of the previous one and its conception was followed by Andrea Amico ( Trident F2-F3 FIA team – Data Engineer F3 Open, Italian F4 ) through a painstaking CAD work. The machine was (as is traditional for the Corrado Cusi* series) made in an attempt to reduce costs to a minimum. The creators of the car, together with Andrea, are Corrado Cusi and Luca Panizzi (in addition to the Predator’s staff) The car has higher sides, an elongated frame, and a more tapered rear than its predecessor. The high bellies of the PC015 are an atypical element for modern formula cars and combine with a lower, single-piece nose. The car consists of a steel tube frame with aluminum side brushes, with a sequential six-speed gearbox. The roll bar has been narrowed compared to the previous version. “The main objective on which we based the design of this machine,” Amico told us “was to reduce the Cx as much as possible” to decrease the resistance to advancement compared to the PC010. Motorcycle engine. The tires will be all-weather as for Formula E. The base weight is 360kg but will fluctuate based on the use of front or rear ballast. The dimensions correspond to 4050mm in length, 1630mm in maximum width, 1020mm in height, and 2250 / 2270mm of wheelbase (slightly increased to the PC010).

MARKET OVERVIEW

Race cars have been in history a past time for wealthy people, and now, never than before, motorsport is extremely expensive. There are a lot of open wheels Junior categories in the world but no one has the Predator’s compromise of prize, shape, and performance. The electric engine is now booming all around the world because the maintenance cost is much cheaper than the regular gas. Nonetheless, because people are now more sensitized to the climax issue of our planet. Formula Predator’s motorcycle and electric engines are more successful than ever thanks to the cheap maintenance cost while delivering outstanding performance. Actually many SIM racers are involved in the competitions online and all of them would love to become a real race car driver, so, making a partnership with a SIM organization would be a great idea to give them some prizes for the winners to race with Predators or Spice X, etc. Another cheap car very successful in America and in the world is the Legend Car, they sell around 500 cars per year but they are not open cockpit with the shape of a Formula 1. Yes the Legend is cheaper, but the Predator is sexier, therefore the numbers could be the same or more.
